This week, HSCC covers TOTO's classic 1982 hit, “Africa.” The combined grandeur of Steve Todd's percussion solo in the latter half and the magnificent vocals of Danny Lopresto and Jordan Lennon takes listeners on a vast sonic journey.
HSCC respectfully revisits the original's grand soundscape. Warm tones and meticulous arrangements blend together to create a track that gently envelops the listener.
Particularly noteworthy is percussionist Steve Todd's solo section in the latter half. Beginning quietly and gradually building intensity, his performance feels like the wind sweeping across the African plains.
